Job Title: PHP developer
Department: Websites
Responsible to: Websites Director

• Work closely with the websites team to complete projects
• Troubleshoot and fix any issues relating to PHP programmes
• Ensure smooth operations of web processes and infrastructure
• Create scripts to facilitate client systems to meet performance and objectives
• Test and develop software for client applications
• Create documentation for software created
• Utilise source debuggers and write or modify client software
• Produce results effectively and within the deadlines set


Required knowledge and skills

• Proven experience as a PHP developer in a competitive environment
• Minimum of three years’ experience with PHP 5.6-7
• Experience with CodeIgnitor/Laravel
• Minimum of three years’ experience with MySQL
• Good understanding of website integration and software creation
• Experience in automated testing, containerised deployment and API development;
• Experience with server-side (apache) administration
• Good verbal and written English communication
• Product and domain-specific knowledge
• Experience with WordPress desirable
• Good knowledge of WEB technologies (JS, CSS, HTML, jQuery); Woocommerce

• Able to lead, communicate and work unsupervised as required
• Good collaborative communication skills with other team members
• Strong learning capabilities, open to learning new technologies
• Able to follow clear instructions according to client demands
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Creative ability to produce effective solutions to client problems
• Good team player and enthusiastic about delivering results
• Willing to work unsociable hours on occasion, as the project demands.
